๐งฉ Project Overview
Nizhal is a thriller short film written and directed by Sivaramakrishnan, built around tension, atmosphere, and character moments rather than visual effects. The film leans heavily on camera movement, framing, and editing to keep viewers engaged.
I worked as the Editor and was also involved in the production side, helping bridge what was shot on set with how it finally plays on screen. The core focus of the project was to translate the on-set energy, cool camera moves, and practical effects into a tight, polished narrative.
โจ Core Features
Thriller-Focused Pacing โ Editing built around suspense, reveals, and reaction shots to keep tension alive throughout the film
Camera-Driven Storytelling โ A lot of the style comes from how the film was shot: dynamic angles, movement, and practical in-camera effects
Sharp, Clean Edits โ Rhythm-based cutting between characters, actions, and key beats to guide audience attention
Minimal VFX, Maximum Practicality โ Very little reliance on digital VFX; the emphasis is on real locations, lighting, and camera work
On-Set to Final Cut โ Involved from production through post, aligning what was planned during shoot days with how it feels in the final timeline
